Antoine Champetier
Economist and modeler: agriculture, ecology and animal welfare · Zurich
About me
I build quantitative models that combine economics, ecology, and epidemiology to support management and policy decisions. My work covers pollination and beekeeping, animal welfare, invasive species, and climate change.
I have applied these models to beekeeping in the U.S. and Canada, almond production in California, citrus and walnut production in Spain, coffee farming in India, and swine and greenhouse production in Switzerland.
Since 2017, I have worked as a freelance consultant, building numerical models for clients ranging from startups to government agencies. Since 2022, I have also been a scientific officer at the Swiss 3R Competence Center, where I analyze data on the use of animals in scientific research.
What I do
- Bioeconomic and equilibrium modeling for policy and management
- Data analysis and interactive dashboards (R Shiny)
